Prepping for NaNoWriMo 2018: Starting This Week

November 1st is this Thursday, Gods help us.

That's when I start up the NaNo madness again.

Getting into the final stages of having an idea - one idea out of several I've been working on for months and years - and sticking to it through the 30 days towards a 50,000 word goal.

Need to avoid the distractions.

Need to have a laptop working.

Need to find a positive emotional state, a spark, a muse, a decent scented candle for aromatherapy, whatever it takes!!!

Still in the middle of it, but here's what happened:

Back to work.

Prepping for NaNoWriMo 2016

Okay, so National Novel Writing Month is officially every November, which is now NEXT MONTH.

That means a few things:

1) the NaNoWriMo website resets itself.

2) I need to submit a proposed book idea and proposed cover (optional, but fun to have).

3) The Lakeland FL Region will reset, which means I got to start managing the threads and the notes and the Calendar again!

4) I really need to come up with a good book idea this time.

Sigh.

For all the times I've NaNo'ed, I've yet to complete a "finished" work past the 50,000 word count. The remainders that follow in my wake are - upon re-evaluation - a bit messy even before the need for actual revisions to where I'm almost embarrassed by them.

I need to - NEED TO - come up with an idea I know I can follow up to its conclusion. I'd REALLY like to get one of these things honest-to-God done.

So, a quick poll to anybody willing to leave a comment. Should I write:

1) A fiction novel, focusing on the Talents superhero 'verse I've been working on?

2) A non-fiction novel of political ranting - which I kinda do anyway - during what will be the most anxiety-riddled election month in recent memory?

Crash Writing

Sure I ought to focus on getting the NaNo novel continuing, but a writing challenge from a local group stirred up an old idea in my head and I'm charging into creating a short story to see about getting it epublished for the holidays!

Hint: it involves the couple from the "Welcome To Florida" story.

Last Week Of NaNoWriMo

The trick isn't to write a published novel right out of the gate.

The trick is to write something you can work with.  Get the ideas out there.  Create.

This week requires 11,000 more words out of me (I have fallen behind).  I want to get to 50,000.  I will achieve that moment...

Just Got A Title Idea For a Story

It's set in my superheroes universe.  I just now have to write a story that'll fit the title... ;-)
